Sweet Strawberries
Kilcoskan Gardening Club planted strawberries in a grow bag and placed them in a tunnel to grow. We will enjoy eating them during our last few days of the school year.
Flower Power!
This week the Gardening club planted a variety of flower seeds to give the new school garden a bit of colour.
We planted two varieties of sunflowers, wallflowers, nasturtium and sweet pea seeds. We also had a look at the pumpkins, marigolds and strawberries to see how they are getting on. They look ready to be taken out of their pots and planted next week.
Hurling semi-final Kilcoskan v St. Francis
Well done to the Kilcoskan hurling/ camogie team for making to the semi-final in St. Anne's Park on 14th May. Everyone on the team played brilliantly on the day but unfortunately we lost by 1 point. Final score was 4 goals to 3 goals and 2 points. Thanks to Teacher Phil for all the coaching this season. Here are some pictures of the big game...

Planting Marigolds
We planted Marigolds or Calendulas in Latin. We made a makeshift tunnel using wires and plastic to help our plants and flowers grow.
Planting pumpkin seeds!
We planted sunflower seeds with GrĂ¡inne. We got our hands dirty putting compost into pots and putting one seed into each pot. We also put some into a tray. Hopefully the pumpkins will grow nice and big in time for Halloween.
